Coach Kadir Oz is currently the Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Lombard College Prep (CPSA). He holds certifications from USA Basketball, JR NBA, IHSA, National Academy of Sports Medicine, and from New York University in the Fundamental Aspects of Global Sports Management. Coach Kadir has 10+ years of experience in coaching travel basketball, feeder basketball, individual skills training, and basketball camps. In the past, he coached at MCC Academy for 6 years, where he won championships at the Junior High and Elementary levels. He also has coached for Illinois Hoopstars, All In Athletics, Joy of the Game Rising Stars, Northridge Preparatory School, and more! Coach Kadir focuses on embracing the process of growth, which entails the need to focus on how to get better every day in order to succeed later. Kadir’s teams focus around fundamentals, team-oriented basketball, offensively playing with spacing, ball movement, and player movement, with a primary emphasis on defense.
Coach Suha is the head coach of the MCC Crescents girls Athletics teams and has led them to several championships in the Southwest League in basketball and volleyball. She has been coaching basketball for 4 years and volleyball for 7 years!! She played competitively throughout middle school and highschool; and played intramural basketball and volleyball throughout undergrad. She has also led many Summer Camps and developed many Young Muslim Athletes who have continued to play at various public high schools such as NW, GBS, and ME. Her passion and drive continues her love to work with young Girls by providing them with robust training and facilitating a healthy, fun, kind-spirited environment. Coach Suha is a profound leader for our girls in our Muslim community and looks forward to learning each girl’s name and working with them meticulously on providing each athlete with the skill set they need on and off the court!
Coach Qureshi has been coaching and teaching for the past 12 years. For the first 7 years of his career he has taught physical education and health at a K-12 school and is currently teaching at the high school level. Coach Qureshi has coached, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball at the Elementary, Middle School and High School levels. Coach Qureshi enjoys sports and activity as they have been the focal point of his life ever since he was in elementary school. Because of this, he learned at a very young age that hard work, dedication, and patience were the keys to success in sports and in life.
Osman enjoys being a physical education and health teacher . As a Phys Ed and Health teacher he is not only responsible for guiding student athletes in the right direction in a school setting but also in their everyday lives. Helping students understand the importance of being well rounded and proud of the consistent effort they put into something, makes what he does so enjoyable
Coach Usman is a former Varsity Basketball Player with over 13 years of experience playing basketball, from Peterson Elementary School’s basketball team to Niles North High School’s varsity basketball. He has been experiencing and studying the game from numerous coaches and programs during his playing career. He has experience participating in every basketball league or tournament in the Chicago region, including numerous AAU tournaments. With the success of his recent private camps for friends and family, he is eager to expand and work for a promising organization like Northside Athletics.
Coach Usman’s presence on the court is an addition that brings someone with experience from the front lines. Because of his playing background, he will be able to connect with the children and give them insider tips on how to succeed as a basketball player, student, and most importantly a Muslim. We are thrilled to welcome Usman on the team and think he will play a significant role in the development of your children.
Wajeeha Shuttari is the head coach for the MCCA Girls Basketball and Volleyball programs. She has coached the middle school girls to two regionals volleyball championships and one basketball regional championships.
While growing up in MI, and being the only Muslim in her school, she was captain of her basketball team and played volleyball and softball throughout junior high and high school. During college, she served as an academic peer advisor, played intramural basketball, and coached middle school girls at the nearby Islamic School in Ann Arbor.
Wajeeha has an endless love for the sport and first hand appreciation of all the benefits team sports can have on many aspects of life for Muslim girls. Wajeeha was a pioneer for MI youth groups and camps and now serves as an Executive at United Heath Group and a professional coach for the Product Talent & Development program.
